Kevin Borg was born on the 9:th of june 1986 in Malta, a small island in the Mediterranean Sea with no more than 450 000 inhabitants. Kevin discovered his interest and talent in singing when he was nine year old and made his debut as the main role player of the musical "Oliwer Twist".
As a sixteen year old he made his debut on a Maltese TV program where he sang and entertained the audience. He stayed in the program for four years. During this time, many producers became interested in Kevin. His nice voice and his cheerful personality attracted many viewers. He was offered to take part in the Malta song for Europe.
He entered the competition in both 2006 and 2007.
On December 12, 2007 Kevin decided to leave everything he had in Malta to follow his girlfriend to Sweden. Kevin had never seen snow and obviously not been in below freezing temperatures!
In March 2008, everything was going to change. After a lot of thought, he took part in the largest music competition in Sweden, IDOL. Not an easy decision given that the swedish language was completely foreign to him. It would appear that he was quite right to take part in the competition. His journey continued and we could see Kevin in great performances every Friday . Without any week "risking elimination", he went straight to the big idol final. The final took place on December 12, 2008, exactly a year after he moved to Sweden. Kevin became the winner after the Swedish people had given him 76% of the votes. His first single was With Every Bit Of Me, which sold platinum and topped the Swedish charts. In March 2009, Kevin released his debut album The Beginning, which was certified gold. Thereafter, he toured all over Sweden and also had some concerts and performances in Malta.
The same year he received a lot of prizes and scholarships . He was also awarded the youth prize with a sum of money, which he donated to breast cancer research.
Kevin got a lot of attention in his home country. Malta's equivalent of the swedish "Rock Björnen" is "Malta Music Awards" where Kevin won the category for "Best Male Artist" Yes the list is long, Kevin has also performed the super hit No Air with the American pop star Jordin Sparks ..
In 2009 Kevin became a musical star when he accepted the lead role of Troy Bolton in High School Musical. The musical premiered in September at Göta Lejon Theater in Stockholm. The musical was such a success that in 2010 it was decided to extend the musical and go out on a big tour in Sweden. It was sold out at each performance.
In addition to touring with the musical in 2010, Kevin spent much time in the studio where he worked and is still working on his second album which is expected to be sometime in 2011.
Kevin has appeared in countless television shows and competitions. He has achieved more things during his two years in Sweden than he had ever dreamed of. There is no doubt that this charming and talented person has a bright future to look forward to.
